Episode 104 Summary:

Sixteen year-old Katarina wants to be the next Miss Michigan Teen Galaxy. Her mother is her main source of advice and help in training for the pageant, and Mom is pretty much willing to do anything she has to do to help Katarina in winning, even taking her for lip injections.

Kat's dad is her main source of income, although he can be a bit harsh on her. He pays for her to drive six hours away to meet with Don Baker, an expert on teaching excellent communication skills. Kat's dad tells her she needs to adapt a healthier lifestyle, that would involve cutting out junk food and working out more often, if she wants to win. But Kat doesn't seem to be able to follow that track.

When pageant day arrives, Kat is intimated by the other girls. Competition is fierce but she remains calm during her interview and confident during Casual Wear and Evening Gown. In the end, Kat doesn't even place. Do some girls just have all the luck, or was it because she lacked the self-discipline to stay in shape?
